Why were KASP-TF Master Mixes developed?
KASP Master Mix formulations have been updated to remove Triton X-100 in compliance with the REACH Regulation for Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals ((EC) No 1907/2016), which was implemented by the European Commission to protect human health and the environment through the safe use of chemicals. As of January 04, 2021, use of nonylphenol ethoxylate (NPE) and octylphenol ethoxylate (OPE) based surfactants such as Triton-X100 are not permitted in the EU, unless an authorization is granted or the use is exempted from authorization. The updated KASP-TF Master Mixes are free of Triton-X100, with the same performance and quality you have always expected from your KASP genotyping mix.

The reformulated KASP™-TF Master Mix enables you to obtain reliable clustering and collect high-quality data you know and trust — no matter the template or scale.
We performed extensive validation testing to cover the wide range of sample types our customers study to confirm that the new formulation does not have any impact on the end-point genotyping data in comparison to the old KASP Master Mix formula.
