The I-Q570 modification incorporates a fluorescent Quasar® 570 dye internally or at the 5’ terminus of an oligonucleotide. Quasar 570 modified oligonucleotides can be used in a wide array of applications including dual-labeled fluorogenic probes for real-time PCR. This fluorophores is conjugated to a modified thymidine which may participate in hybridization. Quasar 570 fluorophore is an indocarbocyanine dye which fluoresces in the yellow-orange region of the visible spectrum and can be effectively quenched by BHQ®-2 dye. It is used as a direct replacement for Cy™ 3 dye.
