The 5-Q705 modification incorporates a fluorescent Quasar® 705 dye at the 5’ terminus of an oligonucleotide. 5’ Quasar 705 modified oligonucleotides can be used in a wide array of applications including dual-labeled fluorogenic probes for real-time PCR. Quasar 705 fluorophore is an indocarbocyanine dye which fluoresces in the deep red region of the visible spectrum and can be effectively quenched by either BHQ®-2 or BHQ-3 dyes.
