The 5-ATTO 620 modification incorporates an ATTO™ 620 dye (ATTO-TEC GmbH) at the 5' terminus of an oligonucleotide. ATTO 620 modifications exhibit high thermal and photo-stability. With strong absorption and high fluorescence quantum yield, ATTO 620 can be used in a wide array of applications, including dual-labeled fluorogenic probes for real-time PCR. ATTO 620 is a cationic dye and an alternative for LC Red® 640; particularly where enhanced photostability is desired. ATTO 620 fluoresces in the red region of the visible spectrum and its fluorescence can be effectively quenched by BHQ®-2 dye.
