The 3-ATTO 680 mdCNH modification incorporates an ATTO™ 680 dye (ATTO-TEC GmbH) at the 3' terminus of an oligonucleotide. ATTO 680 modifications exhibit high thermal, pH, and photo-stability. With good water solubility, strong absorption and high fluorescence quantum yield, ATTO 680 can be used in a wide array of applications, including dual-labeled fluorogenic probes for real-time PCR. This 3' ATTO 680 modification is conjugated to a modified cytidine which may participate in hybridization. ATTO 680 can be used as a substitute for Cy5.5™; particularly where enhanced photostability is desired. Fluorescing in the red region of the visible spectrum, ATTO 680 can be effectively quenched by BHQ®-3 dye.
