The 3-ATTO 594 mdCNH modification incorporates an ATTO™ 594 dye (ATTO-TEC GmbH) at the 3' terminus of an oligonucleotide. ATTO 594 modifications exhibit high thermal, pH, and photo-stability. With strong absorption and high fluorescence quantum yield, ATTO 594 can be used in a wide array of applications, including single molecule detection, high-resolution microscopy, flow cytometry (FACS), and fluorescence in-situ hybridization (FISH). This 3' ATTO 594 modification is conjugated to a modified cytidine which may participate in hybridization. ATTO 594 can be used as a substitute for Alexa Fluor® 594; particularly where enhanced photostability is desired. Fluorescing in the red region of the visible spectrum, ATTO 594 can be effectively quenched by BHQ®-2 dye.
