ATTO 550 on AmC6; 5’ Modification

The 5-ATTO 550 modification incorporates an ATTO™ 550 dye (ATTO-TEC GmbH) at the 5' terminus of an oligonucleotide. With strong absorption and high fluorescence quantum yield, ATTO 550 can be used in a wide array of applications, including single molecule detection, high-resolution microscopy, and fluorescence in-situ hybridization (FISH). ATTO 550 is a cationic dye and can be used as a substitute for Alexa Fluor® 555 and NED®; particularly where enhanced photostability is desired. ATTO 550 fluoresces in the yellow region of the visible spectrum and its fluorescence can be effectively quenched by BHQ®-2 dye.
